Junko Sekine, Ph.D., is the founder of the company and mastered decision-making in risk analysis using visualization and simulation technique during her doctoral study. She is also working as a research specialist with the Development Research Group at the World Bank. Her research interests include private sector development and poverty reduction through SMEs, aggregated macro indicator construction using household survey data as an alternative policy measure (e.g., Corporate Vulnerability Utility, Gross Happiness Indicator), and financial inclusions. She has worked extensively with large firm-level and household survey data using statistical packages such as Stata, SAS, Matlab, and Eviews. Other experience includes database management, data quality control, and programming with a variety of system development languages such as C++ and Visual Basic.
Prior to joining the Bank in 2008, she worked in private banking, IT consulting, and at the International Monetary Fund. Her background in Systems Engineering has been an asset to conduct complex quantitative analysis and modeling. She holds a Ph.D in Systems Engineering from the George Washington University and a B.S. in Computer Science from the Science University of Tokyo.
